Nice haul. What were you playing? For some reason I am think Roulette.

That would be my guess too. Long term, playing roulette is a money loser, but short term it's the only table game I can think off with a potentially huge payout relative to the amount bet.

Yes we were playing roulette. We hit the number and all the areas around it. It was quite a haul. I still have alot of the winnings left and will probably just put it into savings. I know, very boring.

Lady Luck is certainly on your side James! Nice way to impress the girl too
Ha! Honestly I wanted to quit and she said we should just try one more time. I'm glad that I listened to her. I just got home a few hours ago from the second time going out. I am heading out to dinner and the fight tonight.

So very true. Roulette is great for quick hits, but the long term ain't so bright.

I'm kind of curious why you paid taxes right now on the winnings.

Why not cash out part last night and part today and just include it in your taxes next year, if you can remember.

I've seen people fill out a W-2G for slot machine wins and I've filled them out before from poker tournaments, but I've never filled one out with just cashing out at the cage.

I am very forgetful and the last thing I need is tax problems.

just off the strip with my friend Bella and we are gambling and drinking Absolut Vanilla Vodka on the rocks and before I know it I won $10,000! I was unaware of it at first until Bella started jumping up and down. Maybe I didn't realize it because I had been drinking for a bit. lol Anyway I had all of the chips stacked in front of me and it finally hit me. I swear I about passed out!

Before I kept gambling and "invested" it all back into the casino I cashed out, paid my taxes up front on the winnings and had a little more than $5,000 in my pocket. I took the people at the table with me out for dinner and drinks and then Bella and I drank a bit more.

I still have quite a bit left. I dropped Bella off at home so she could change and freshen up and we are going to go out again in a bit and spend some more. I put a few thousand aside for savings and am going to go out and try to blow through about $1,500 tonight. I put $500 aside to go to the UFC fight tomorrow night too.

I know that this is off topic, but my family is asleep in the Midwest and I just had to share this with someone. Perhaps I will have some pictures to post tomorrow night of our night out.

I have never won this much money before and probably never will again. But damn it was nice to win big and have a friend with me. :acclaim::banana:

Great news James! couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

Nothing seems to be as fun or spend as fast as money won. Congratulations.

I was thinking the same thing --- I think roulette gives you the best chance to win while you're a little sloshed lol

Congrats on the win! Made me think of that Simpsons episode where Homer and Flanders wake up hungover and married to the tail waitresses.

Good episode.

Nice win! How much is the tax in LV, 30%? Luckily, I live in Canada, won $35,538 one night last year at the casino & took every penny home. Lottery & casino winnings up here are not taxable. (thumbs u
