Removing shading from a comic

This is also known as 'dust shadowing' and I don't think removing it would be wise. First, I'm not sure that even a thorough professional cleaning (which CGC would most likely spot and deem restoration) would remove a dust shadow. Second, I don't think CGC penalizes a book much for having a dust shadow, so removing it isn't going to bring the grade up much if at all...

You can remove dust shadows, but I'm not sure how it's done nor am I sure whether you can do it in an undetectable way or not. I say they're removable because I've seen pro restorers advertise it.
