X-MEN 94 CGC 9.6

484 posts in this topic

The 9.4 has nice QP, but it looks like [!@#%^&^] structurally. I count 4 color breakers and what appears to be nick/tears at the top edge and that's only on the small part of the spine shown. I'll take the 9.2.

I have 2 9.0s that I am thinking of re-submitting to CGC to get a higher grade. I think their standards have dropped when grading this issue.

I do not think it is butt ugly, I seriously doubt you would not want it for your collection. If you do have any high grade copies like this that you would throw back, let me know - perhaps I can take them off your hands.

I love this kind of comment, and it goes right up there with fans who play the old "well, don't complain if you can't do better" lame duck card when someone dislikes a comic, movie or book. If you don't like Valiants, date stamps, written names or POS production defects, then fanboys chime in with "If you hate them so much, why don't you give it to me...?"

You see, I would NEVER have bought that sadass comic in the first place, I would not have gone near it at a show, and I would never have accepted it as a NM from a mail-order dealer, and due to the off-center, white border cover, many dealers would not have graded it as a NM+ in the first place.

Of course if I did happen to get a badly misaligned copy by accident (and for cheap, otherwise it'd go back), I'd certainly make use of the label-driven sucker money, list it on EBay and drain them for all they're worth, just like this seller. I definitely wouldn't just toss it away or give it to someone, but neither would it be anywhere near my permanent collection.

Otherwise, I'd keep looking at that badly-produced book and keep wanting to upgrade.

If you are going to quote me, at least have the courtesy to do it properly.

You see that grin on the end, it denotes humor or a joke. Something which you missed in the my post and lacking in your post.

Well I disagree and side with Tomega on this one. Regardless if the 9.4 looks better by comparison (and that's mighty convienent in this case), the 9.6 on it's own looks like a winner to me.

Comparisons of this manner really didn't occur until the advent of CGC. A nice comic was a nice comic before CGC. Now people compare 9.4s against 9.4s or in this case 9.4 against 9.6. Does it really matter - monetary difference aside? Both are extremely nice copies and prior to CGC would hold high regard in 99% of people's collections.

I guess you can tell I'm getting a little sick of all this bogus QP talk of late....

Hell, I side with him just for the fact that he's arguing with JC. grin.gif

Why is taking production defects into consideration....."bogus"? confused.gif

The miswrap on that 9.6 looks terrible. Maybe it's just me( hi.gif ).....but I would much rather have a nice looking 9.4, then an overpriced 9.6 that looks like [!@#%^&^].
