Other Harvey Pekar comics besides American Splendor?

12 posts in this topic

Can someone please tell me what comic first printed a story written by Harvey Pekar? I believe he had stories printed prior to American Splendor in 1976.

Also, what other comics besides The Real People's comic has Pekar contributed to?

Thank you.

Thank you. I remember reading that in his book Our Movie Year but could not remember the title. Are there different editions? What year did it first come out? (I should have asked this in opening thread...)

I can actually ask Toby Radloff, and Harvey the next time I'm in Cleveland... er Ok, you found the answer. For those of you who are familiar with them, Toby is "the nerd" in the comics, and not just any nerd. The World's most famous nerd. Great guy though. I've known him for over 20 yrs. Harvey I've only met a few times, but am always running into him when I'm back home. Not that anyone cares about any of this....sigh I digress. :signofftopic:

People's Comics #nn - label reads Golden Gate (9/72). The 50-cent cover price (I believe there were 6 printings in total) would likely be the printing most valuable and desirable to collectors.

Great Movie, great comics, great lives. And by great, I mean Faulknerian.

Agree. Humanist, like Vonnegut.
