Thor Animated Series!

Hopefully it is not another one of those superhero-in-High-School cartoons. My goodness...

Like the upcoming Iron Man Animated Series?

Is it? I don't know. I've seen one episode of the Young Spiderman and one of the X-men where they are young. I hated them both and I loved the regular cartoons from the early 90s. Maybe I'm too old. (But I'm not old, so who knows?)

I just think they're trying too hard to be Smallville. I'm not trying to offend anyone who likes them, I just don't see the appeal. Give me the classic set-up and I'll watch. (Well, for Spidey and X-men anyway).

Does anyone know off-hand if these types of cartoons are successful?

I get the feeling its about merchandising now, get the product exposure so we can sell videogames, dvds and action figures.Get a character on tv or make a movie about it. Example was Ang Lee`s Hulk 2003. It was a bomb at the box office but made millions on videogames, dvds and action figures. That`s why you seen the Ed Norton Hulk. you gotta keep the Hulk franchise moving.
