Last year at SDCC (or maybe the year before), Greggy looked at me and said I had no idea what was in my collection anymore.

He may have been right.

I was doing some cleaning in my son's room, and found these in a pile on the floor. If only I could find runs like this on other titles. Just a beautiful batch of books, and it makes you wonder why someone would not only store them w/ such care, but take the time to pick out such nice copies of the newstand of a title like this. Most of the Reggie's range from 8.5-9.6. Just sweet. Had no idea I had these.

This cover deserves special mention, just to make sure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. No way this one was an accident. Even my wife picked up on this little double meaning. We always knew Archie was getting more action than he let on.

Got this last night from Heritage for $62 (incl. BP) that was my limit. Sounds like a good deal to me or at least just about right...but since I dropped GPA awhile back can't be sure.

Been trying to get this for a good price since Iron Fist's resurgance in the MU.

More HG drek from my son's room. I'm not sure where I picked these up, but if memory serves, a bunch were from a dollar box. A nice mix of Charlton Horror, Animated and Romance.

Let's start of with this Charlton Romance gem. Like every other red-blooded adolescent, I always thought they left of a word balloon that said something like "My roommate and I were wondering if.....".

This must be a reprint--I'm sure Aparo was done slumming it at Charlton at this point, and was at his peak doing Brave and Bold.

Gray area but I consider this a bronze age book, not sure what the board consensus is.... (shrug)

I couldn't decide if this was a key book to pick up or not but I thought I would grab a copy just in case while the prices are still pretty cheap for 9.8's....I always seem to be a day late and a dollar short when books decide to take off like GL 76 doh!

I think this might fall under the late bronze from what I remember being the concensus ont hese boards (been away for awhile). I remember some thread about calling these books Cronze or Bropper.

lol

I won a big DC horror auction on eBay. I probably overpaid but it was the perfect way to kickstart my collection. I got about a third of the lot in yesterday, still waiting on the big box I guess. Looks like mostly mid grade Unexpected and Witching Hours with some randomness thrown in. Here are a few highlights:

Scaries1.jpg

I'm getting at least 5 of the 6 Unexpected 100 pagers. I'm also collecting underwater covers to display as one big underwater comics mural so the Ghosts #2 is an extra bonus.

These were in there too:

There were about 50 books in the lot that were still unidentified when it ended, I got 4 in the first box so the next box should be pretty exciting.
