You're probably right. I'd go 9.2. If it was 8.0 the tone of Smitty's post would be entirely different (ie, guess the grade, I was robbed!). Anyone giving it less than 9.0 is a tool & a hater. I'd love to buy all their 8.0s that look like this.

Here's what I see in the scan:

 

• Top and bottom right corners are slightly rounded
• Top and botom left corners are slightly impacted
• There are at least 3 minor spine breaks

 

If anyone wants to take

I looked it over one more time, and I gotta go with 9.2. I'm caught between 9.0 and 9.2, but my gut tells me to go higher....

 

We'll see soon enough.

Nice Cover. The white jumps out at you. A couple of ticks on the spine and with the other corner bump maybe a 9.0 or 9.2.. Given how they are pretty tough probably an 8.5.

Well, it actually is my modest collection.

Most of my comics are still unslabbed...I will soon submit more books for grading... I've had these since I bought them from Chuck R (MH) over 20 years ago.

 

Edit: smilie added...

just think about it: over 1000 mile high books, average value several thousands...this would be one of the most valuable comic collections in existence. + all those still unslabbed comics.

Top left corner blunted, I counted 7 tiny spine stress, small bump bottom left corner spine.

Withought back cover seen , I would guess 9.0-9.2

That's funny....his copy is as nice as this one but was said to be no better than 8.0-8.5 in the Grading section about 5 months ago.....

That issue of 162 looks great, I give a grade of 9.6.....

This is a good example of why scan grading isn't too easy. It looks to me like this book has a crease on the right edge right below the falling guy's hands. If thats true than the book is in the VF area.

That's what I hate about these "I'll be back tomorrow night with the grade and scan" grading contests, where the poster usually disappears and doesn't come through.
