What's also funny is the level of meta-fawning. Meta-fawning is a phrase (I just invented) which describes the phenomenon of geeks who feel compelled to post because they see a hot girl but don't want to look obvious so instead they comment on the fawning of the other geeks.

 

A post such as:

Oh boy, just watch as all the geeks fall over themselves to greet the new hot chick!
... is a meta-fawn.

 

Of course, this whole post could be seen as a meta-meta-fawn, but that would get confusing.
