Sailormoon! I *loooooooooooooove* Sailormoon. I could go on for hours about it.

 

And in response to the 'Hot Girl In A Comic Shop' video...;

 

She did it wrong. She should have come up and gone "No, Batman would win".

 

My wife really likes Inuyasha, Chobits, Fruits Basket, and such. I prefer shows with a little more action and a bit weird like Boogiepop Phantom, Fooly Cooly, Cowboy Bebop, Ninja Scroll, etc... We both really liked Full Metal Alchemist, Witch Hunter Robin, Read or Die, and a few others. We just got done watching Ganzt and it was alright. It had an interesting premise, but got pretty bad in spots.

Are those for real or did you just make all that shlt up?

 

All real, bro. The art in some of them is amazing. I think if you watched something like Cowboy Bebop, you might like it. I got hooked watching Studio Ghibli movies like Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle. Grave of the Fireflies is an animated film I would recommend to anyone.

I like the Matsumoto classics: Galaxy Express, Captain Harlock, Space Cruiser Yamato. Though they have simpler animation and somewhat convoluted plots, the stories have character that's oftentimes missing from more modern anime.

Hey szelim, Space Cruiser Yamato is an all time classic, but if it's character you are missing, I highly recommend any of Hayao Miyazaki's works. They are absolutely brilliant.

Miyazaki's stuff is quite good as well - Nausicaa is another classic.

Back in the late 80s/early 90s when anime wasn't available in the UK and the internet could just about download a small jpeg if you sat and waited for 10 minutes, I'd nab anything Japanese I could find. Among these was a very poor quality bootleg VHS of Sailor Moon (in Japanese with Chinese subs).

 

Great special attack/transformation scenes, and talking cats. Hey, who doesn't love talking cats? :grin: I didn't have the slightest clue what was going on, but it was cool.
