PGM Fantastic Four #50

Hi everyone,

 

I just aquired this book for my Silver Surfer collection and will submit it to CGC for slabbing. Would anyone like to guess at what grade it will be? The only major defect seems to be a one and a half inch scuff mark directly on the spine about the size of Sue Reed's head. The interior pages look cream to off-white.

Can't see the spine and top edge from the photos, so it's tough to assign a grade. With those caveats in mind, I'd say the book might be a 7.5, with the edge tanning, spine scuff, and crease on the upper left corner of the back cover as significant reductions. My grade would be lower if the book has FC spine or top edge flaws as well.

We need a BC Scan to make a decent enough guess. Bigger scans wouldn't hurt either.

But based on the FC small scan. I will say a 9.2 Possible 9.4 In Hand. IMHO as always...

TFL , can't go that high with the large damage along the spine near sue's head. Hate to grade the comic with a scan that small. Perhaps try scanning the book a few more times, photobucket is rather unpredictable, at least to me, on the size of scan it stores.

I'll try reducing the DPI on my scanner to see if it allows for a larger image. I see you bought a Fantastic Four #72 - just bought a copy of that issue myself and it is already graded CGC 9.0.

I wasn't sure if it was damage or scanner debris. If it is damage. I would have to revise the grade. 7.5 ..

Check your private messages Chris. Also, take the comic out of the bag to scan. I've never had good results scanning books in bags. Alway end up with a small scan on photoshop.
