:slapfight:

As if trophies and winning is what football is all about.

It's about years of bitter disappointment and misery.

Up the Boro.

Totally agree Neil

C'mon the Mags.

I do have da funk. In my pants.

My brother and I were discussing early Simple Minds the other day...we agreed they were the most underrated band of their era.

Guys, I would heartily recommend seeing the current incarnation of Simple Minds live if you get the chance.

The recent 5x5 tour had them playing 5 songs from each of their first 5 albums, including some real rarities like; This Fear of Gods, Room and 70 Cities as Love Brings The Fall. They have gone back to the original arrangements and even use retro lighting. It's absolutely stunning.

I went with a couple of sceptical friends, who were blown away. I don't mind U2, but the Minds always had more going on musically, lyrically and artistically. I read an interview with Brian Eno recently where he said that the brief from U2 for the Unforgettable Fire was; " to sound like New Gold Dream."

Lets see

5 European Cups + 18 titles

or

3 European Cups + 19 titles

I know which i would rather have :whee:

Now let's see what would you rather have?

12 out of 19 Premiership titles

Or

0 out of 19 Premiership titles and no league title since 1990?

I know which I'd rather have

Looks like we're (united) signing RVP again according to the radio

Simple Minds....

I just have visions of cardigans, white socks & slip-ons.

I'm glad I was just a kid during the 80s lol

Get off my lawn with your Oasis records! :preach:

Never liked Oasis mate.

Sounds like a plan. :headbang:

Absolutely - they lost the plot once they tried to crack the American market.

Yeah, they went all U2 on us. :tonofbricks:

You're possibly talking about the 'Street Fighting Years' album here ?

I would say yes.

Anyone here ever done a open university course? Want abit more job satisfaction but I'm worried with spending so much I won't like the course, just want some reassurances in some ways

Friend of mine did his physics degree on there, he has nothing but praise for the OU.

Was a builder and is now teaching Physics, so retraining can be done.

I know two people who have done OU degrees. One had a building firm and did an advanced construction degree, the other did a teaching qualification. Again, nothing but good stuff to say about it.

OU is a great British institution IMHO.
