Thanks fellows,means a tonne!Sincerely!

TTA's were my first SA love...it all started with a copy of issue 93...the year was 1989...

the dust spiraled in the languid lazy summertime sunshine making its golden way

through the exhaust stained picture window of a half porn half comic book

used magazine store....my earlobe still stung from the safety pin I had stuck through my ear before hopping on my BMX bike to look for returnable bottles to bolster my funds for my uptown (FAR) old comic book fix...caught almost a fin in

deposit bottles found in the ditch and along the gravel of the mostly unfinished roads nearing the edge of the city...I sat down on the floor in front of a line of

more than a dozen beat up long boxes of comics, none with bags, boards or any sense of order at all, took a deep breath of stale old porno mags and mostly bronze age

Marvels and dug in with a smile...

That reminds me of my weekly visit to the local white elephant shop, instead of porn it was old army gear and militaria stuff, they had a table stacked full of comics, British and American, I went in every week, got to know them well, and they would keep them by for me to go through first, they used to cross the cover price out in pen and mark them at half the price, I had to tell them to stop doing it. :cloud9:

from church sales I have many of my first SA comics marked 6cents in pen..sigh

the 90's ruined the old days of old comic "wading"/Since Batman A Death in the Family.I place it right there for this fella. They shot so high so quick it was beyond Rom.

And the media with the death of Robin, then the movie. It all went to hell for me finding good comics at sales then.As a 12 year old I was having to fight with 40 year old men in suits and the "sneaky dealer men' as my Nan called them were as bad for funny books as they were for antique books. The church people started to hold the comics aside for kids to look at first at some places.I remember a full grown man snatching a stack of 10cent Little Lola and Dot comics out of a little girls hands. She started to cry and how this was maybe 1989,he was thrown out and roughed a bit.I was a pre teen and held on to my Tragg and other GoldKeys that much harder from that point on.

I remember turning my nose up at 30 to 35 center Marvels..they were not old enough for me,they would be around forever...

You gang all at the shore? Bank holiday Monday no?

Bank holiday was last weekend. Normal two day weekend for us mortal. Or three days for those with man-flu.

Or for us working crazy shift patterns, finish at 7.20 am Saturday, off for 4 days
