2009 Registry Set Requests

This is the thread to request full set additions to the CGC Registry. (Requests for expansions can be made in the thread dedicated to those requests, listed below.) There must be more than one book to create a set. You can add your request to this thread, just please only request a title once and check to make sure that the set does not already exist on the registry.

 

Below is the list of sets currently up for addition based upon previous requests.

As before, each set will be marked as DONE when they are finished.

Once I have completed this list I will create a new list of the requests that are featured in this thread, so please try to only request a title once, thanks!

Ok, maybe I can't get a VH3 set. I'd like to respectfully request at least Shadowman V3 (Acclaim).

 

There are slabbed copies recorded under both "Shadowman" and "Shadow man"

Please also add the Turok/Shadowman one-shot to the set. Thanks in advance.

Hi Gemma,

I have two requests, one a set of various obscure titles that should logically be grouped together.

 

First, Fantastic Fears (Ajax-Farrell)

 

And second, a set I would call "1950 Esoteric Digests and Paperbacks". In 1950, several comic companies began to experiment with digest and paperback book format comics. They all failed and were quickly canceled, but some of what was published could be considered among the earliest graphic novels. Today, these books are all pretty scarce and highly collectible.

 

The 4 books from Kirby Publishing

- Bold Stories #1, March 1950

- Bold Stories #2, May 1950

- Candid Tales #1, April 1950

- Candid Tales #2, June 1950

A fifth book, Bold Stories #3, is listed in Overstreet but I believe this is a bogus entry and does not exist.

 

The two books from St. John's "Picture Novels" series:

- It Rhymes With Lust, 1950

- The Case of the Winking Buddha, 1950

 

The two books from Comic Media

- Honeymoon Romance #1, April 1950

- Honeymoon Romance #2, July 1950

Do you mean with all the crossover titles? That set currently only has one "variant" which is the second printing of issue #1...
