PGM Detective Comics 256

Appreciate any help on this book. Structurally, I've always considered this book a G/VG-VG- type book, although I'm not quite sure what is going on with it. Along the spine area it has what looks line a moisture issue, but it doesn't have the normal staining from a liquid element. It almost looks like the oils/inks from the book have absorbed into the cover. I've seen this affect on other 1940/1950s books & just never really asked about it. Is this somewhat common in older books & would it change the grade on a lower grade book? Most of my collection ranges from the mid 1960's forward, so I'm clueless on this type book.

I wouldn't have any problem calling it a 4.0. Hard to tell how much of the staining on the back is moisture damage or just soiling.
