Theoretical $$ limit on modern manufactured collectible comic?

3 posts in this topic

People like the shiney covers, premium paid. People like the 1 in 10 variant, so we print out 1 in 100, then 1 in 1000 variant covers, because people pay for the manufactured rarity.

What would the $$ limit be on a modern comic printed this year? Assume a perfect storm, Heros Initiative bends the Presidents ear and he is sympathetic to the cause enough that a deal is reach. Barack Obama aggress to a 1 time signing of 10 books, with all proceeds going to Heroes Inititive, awesome so far, right?

We end up with 1 yellow label CGC 10 1st print ASM 583 Barack Cover signed by the president from the 10 book signing. Obama even jokes on the late show about always wanting to be a superhero, and now he is on this book, and holds up the CGC 10 to the audience and camera.

What would such a book sell for? We have $10,000 a plate fund raiser dinners, so I would think that 10k would be a cinch.

Is it an Obama sketch edition?

Does it have his DNA on the cover?

I think the sky would be the limit if the charity was something more than a couple of peopel cared about.
