At least that one's obvious. For a while, Marvel was putting "variant cover" on second prints. IIRC, X-Factor # 1 from 3 years ago was one of them.

Its funny that Marvel is putting that on their new issues. My LCS have tried to slip a few of the 2nd prints in with my new comics saying that they are "VARIANTS" because marvel got it printed right on the cover

the "best" are the 2nd Print Variants with an image from the interior of the book as the cover. Forget using a new cover, let's just use an interior page!

These have been on Ebay for years. A few years ago I purchased the German Tales of Suspense #39 first Iron man. I had not seen these and thouht it was a real variant . I only paid $19.99 and after i found out I thought it was still cool. but these copys are worth nothing really and to ask $800 is amazing.

I really wouldn't suggest buying anything from that seller. I had an unpleasant experience with him and he always makes the bidders private which means he probably shill bids.

the term "rare Canadian price variant" sounds better than "the normal book distributed and found all over Canada, Canadian Edition" too.

 

my point is everyone wants to be selling variants, not reprints or common books.
