Justice League of America #144, 145, 146, 149, 150

Contemporaneous with his classic collaborations with Marshall Rogers on Detective Comics and Mister Miracle, Englehart's JLA run is often overlooked, but it is one of the best JLA storylines between those of Gardner Fox and Grant Morrison!

  • Each issue Giant sized.

Dave Cockrum mini-run of the Legion of Super-Heroes

  1. Superboy #191 The Legion appears in "Attack of the Sun Scavengers" featuring the return of Dr. Regulus.  Fine Plus condition: bottom right corner of the front cover is slightly frayed.
  2. Superboy #193 The Legion appears in "War Between the Nights and Days" and Karate Kid, Chameleon Boy, Shrinking Violet, Duo Damsel all have new costumes as of this issue.  Fine Minus condition: there is fraying along the right hand edge of the front cover due to a slight overhang along that right edge.  The centerfold is firmly held in place by the top staple, though the bottom staple has one of its tines slipped away from the centerfold paper.  Note the date stamp on the front cover.
  3. Superboy #195 The Legion appears in "The One-Shot Hero," which is the first appearance of Erg-1, soon to be renamed Wildfire.  Phantom Girl appears in her new costume in this story.  Very Fine condition, just a slightly abraded and bent lower left corner of the back cover.
  4. Superboy #200 "The Legionnaire Bride of Starfinger" is a book-length Legion story.  Features the wedding of Bouncing Boy and Duo Damsel.  Fine Plus condition: a few spine stress lines and a very slight vertical color break about midway up the right hand edge of the front cover.  Note the staples were applied at the printer not perfectly centered on the spine (as seen on the front cover scan).
  5. Superboy #201 "The Betrayer from Beyond" features the return of Erg-1.  "The Silent Death" is a 2nd Legion story in this issue, featuring Karate Kid, Dream Girl, Brainiac 5, Lightning Lad and Phantom Girl.  Fine condition, with several spine stress lines, a thumbprint about 4 inches up the spine, a 1/4 inch horizontal tear about 3 inches up the right hand edge, and a few color breaks in the lower right section of the front cover.

Full 6-issue story arc that re-introduces Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El into DC's Post Crisis on Infinite Earths continuity.  Jeph Loeb wrote the story, and Michael Turner drew each of the 6 issues.  Turner also drew the covers for issues apart from #10, which has the Jim Lee variant cover.  This lot is in Very  Fine / Near Mint or better condition.  The two issues in lowest condition are #10, which has an abraded corner at the lower right corner of the back cover, and #13 with a few indentations on the front and back covers and several spine stress lines on the front and back covers.
