1. Forever People #2 Early Darkseid appearance. First appearances of Desaad and Mantis. Fine / Very Fine condition.

 

2. Forever People #3 First appearance of Glorious Godfrey. Darkseid appears. Letter column features a note from Harlan Ellison. Slight tanning around the edges: Fine Plus condition.

 

3. Forever People #4 Darkseid appears. First appearance of Sonny Sumo. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #85 (1943). There are a couple of spots of distributor overspray along the top edge (barely visible on the back cover). Mild color breaks at bottom right corner. Fine condition.

 

4. Forever People #5 First appearance of Lonar. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #84 (1943). There is a slight discoloration at the bottom right corner of the back cover: possible moisture effect? As well there is s spot of rust on the bottom staple, visible at the centerfold. Thus, a very nice looking VG/FN.

 

5. Forever People #6 Darkseid appearance, first use of the Omega Effect. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #75 (1942). This one has a similar discoloration as #5, at the lower right corner of the back cover. Otherwise very nice, call it Fine.

 

6. Forever People #7 Lonar meets Orion, in a flashback prior to the events of New Gods #1. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #80 (1942). Tanning around the edges, corner wear at the bottom right corner of the front cover, and a tiny chip out at the lower left corner. Fine Minus.

 

7. New Gods #7 "The Pact" the secret origin of Orion & Mister Miracle. Darkseid appearance. First appearance of Steppenwolf. First appearance of Avia (Mister Miracle's mother) and of Tigra (Orion's mother). Izaya becomes Highfather. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Manhunter reprint from Adventure Comics #76 (1942). Slight wear at the upper left corner of the front cover: Fine Plus condition.

 

8. Forever People #8 Darkseid appearance. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #77 (1942). One third of the way up the spine there are a couple of pinholes that suggest at one time there was an extra staple added to the spine, since removed. Fine / Very Fine.

 

9. New Gods #8 "Death Wish of Terrible Turpin." Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Manhunter reprint from Adventure Comics #77 (1942). Fine Plus.

 

10. Forever People #9 Deadman crosses over to the Forever People. Also features a Golden Age Simon & Kirby Sandman reprint from Adventure Comics #74 (1942). Tiny spine split at the top. Fine Plus condition.

 

11. Forever People #10 Deadman crossover concludes. Very slight wear along the top edge. Fine/Very Fine.

 

12. Forever People #11 Darkseid appearance. Final issue of the original Jack Kirby run of the Forever People. Color breaking crease at the bottom right corner of the front cover. Fine condition.

In this lot you get:

1.Justice League of America #140 "No Man Escapes the Manhunters!" This storyline ties together for the first time the Jack Kirby Manhunter (Mark Shaw) with the Green Lantern Corps. Fine Plus condition: small color-breaking crease at the lower right corner of the front cover. Slight color loss at top left corner.

2.Justice League of America #141 "No World Escapes the Manhunters!" Conclusion of the story began in #140. Fine/Very Fine condition: mild ink transfer on back cover.

3.Justice League of America #142 places the spotlight on Aquaman, Elongated Man, and the Atom. Introduces Englehart's new JLA villain The Construct, and also features the only appearance of "Willow," the thinly-disguised DC Universe analogue to Marvel's Mantis character from the Avengers, also created by Englehart. Fine Plus condition: crease at upper left corner of the front cover, slight wear along the top edge of the back cover.

4.Justice League of America #143. The Injustice League returns. Mark Shaw appears as the Privateer for the first time. Fine condition. Slight wear around the edges of the back cover, including a 1/8" tear near the top right corner of the back cover.

5.Justice League of America #144. Untold origin of the Justice League, featuring J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter. Very Fine Minus condition: very slight wear around the edges.

6.Justice League of America #149 features Dr. Light, the Privateer, and Snapper Carr as well in "The Face of the Star-Tsar!" Fine/Very Fine condition.

7.Justice League of America #150 features The Key. Final Englehart-scripted issue. Very Fine Minus condition: there is a small crease at the upper right hand corner which does not visibly break color.
