Guess the Grade- Cracked a slab today...

- No question that books in this shape sell on eBay every day as "VF" copies.

- I'd give this a FN+ 6.5

- Interesting that the 'spread' on this book, in terms of board members' estimates, is somewhat broader than on most books graded on these boards. The spread seems to be about 2.5 in this case, from a low of 5.0 to a high of 7.5. Is it simply a matter of disparate opinions re: how much to drop the book for the 'staple pinching' wave effect?

Yes, I find the spread most interesting too.

I think it is a straight Fine 6.0 myself.

I'm glad almost everyone agreed with my assessment giving it at least 5.5 all the way to 7.0.

Only tomega agreed with the pros at 5.0.

I'll post a pic of the label next post.

Don't be hating now when you see it... wink.gif

Yes even they can sometimes Under-Grade.

Don't be fooled though, CGC is still the straight and narrow path.

Most CGG books I've seen aren't as strict as CGC but I did find this one exception.

I bought it slabbed so I don't mind the low grade.

That saved me some dough!

This book raw on eBay would probably cost me way over $100 because most eBay sellers would call it VF- and put up a small scan.

A nice $71 pick up! thumbsup2.gif
