showcase22gr1959
It will be interesting to see what this Showcase 22 6.0 would end out. Have not seen a 6.0 for sell for a while. http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/showcase-22-dc-1959-cgc-fn-60-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7152-91302.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515

Boba
Absolutely! I bought my 6.0 at the high point and it's taken this long for anyone to be brave enough to test the waters with a higher grades copy. Most you see for the longest time are 3.0 - 4.5's. This book deserves more respect than its been getting the last few years. It's going to be interesting to see where this ends up. $1k a point maybe? SC22 will probably double overnight... Once the movie or a film includes lantern as one of the main characters.

And not to toot my horn it looks a heck of a lot nicer than the one Heritage has for sale here. Those color-breaking creases near the spine are a bit severe. I forgot about them - that might effect the results for sure. I guess we'll see.

Let's not forget - I did - how many times Ferris air and even Hal Jordan's name have occurred in the Flash TV show. It'd be nuts if they also brought GL into that universe - as they are doing with Flash - who is also appearing in the JLA movie.

This copy has a bit stress lines in the spine as you mention...and wear on the top too. It does have decent registration and decent eye appeal for the grade. If it had off-white pages++definitely an extra boost.
kimik
It'll close at around 5k and change ... Peter, going for the over. I am not as certain. This is a very fugly 6.0 IMHO. How does a book with that heavy of reading creasing along the spine hit 6.0? The overgrading on it should hurt the price in the end. My 4.5 B&B #28 or old label 4.5 Avengers #4 look more like 6.0s than this copy........... Edited November 9, 2015 by kimik
Boba
Yeah, I think (you're both) right, lots of wear for a 6.0, I don't think we'll get much of a reading off this particular book - but then again if it spikes we can imagine what a "good" specimen of the grade would go for. kimik
If it said 4.5 or 5.0 on the label it would not be as much of an issue. That being said, I would love to have that grading team work on my latest submissions.

I wouldn't call it the best 6.0, but I wouldn't call it a 4.5 or 5.0. This SC22 has great registration and great right colors. The price of this copy will do just fine.
