. Do you know where Derby is located?

 

It's in the north Midlands, about 125 miles north of London (which is in the South East, which gives you some idea as to how small England is) and about 25 miles north of Birmingham. It's closest neighbour and rival is undoubtedly Nottingham.

 

On the plus side it borders the Peak district, an area of natural beauty. Can't say much about the minuses, as I've never been there. It's got a fairly low profile, as British cities go. If it qualifies as a city.

No I've never seen him in anything else. Derby is about 100-120 miles North West-ish of London. Only ever been there on business and those parts are quite drab, but I'm sure Derbyshire has some nice countryside. Was she old when she left ?

Me mum (I guess I should call her that since she is from Britain originally) left there while still a toddler actually, so she doesn't have much recollection of it, unfortunately. Her mother and father were from Germany and Yugoslavia, respectively, and lived in Britain for several years after WWII, before coming to the US in the early '50's.
