Well, here is my second cover recreation. This book is so hot right now with all the movie buzz that a friend suggested I should do this one next.

What you guys think?

 

The line across the middle is from putting it back together from scans as the original art is 11 x 17" and doesn't fit on my scanner.

Great looking work. Just curious--

1) Do you trace these or eyeball the translation?

2) Do you use partial or full digital medium. How much of each (%)?

3) if you are doing on non-digital, what is the medium you are using?

i.e. Bristol Board?

The part that looks digital is an old peel and stick pattern. I drew the image, then peeled and stuck this film on and then hand cut the stuff away I didnt want. Took a long time!

 

To answer the other question, partial trace partial off the cuff, so these are not completely exact.
