Post Your Favorite Banned Forumite

No question in my mind who I'd want back - Redhook.

Brad was a Forensic photoshop detective who uncovered myriad schemes over the years.

He also got into it with any number of other forumitesover various and sundry issues.

He wasn't afraid of taking on anyone and did so very well.

I thought the Goonchild reverse scam was quite creative, but when caught his refusal to apologize didn't sit well with the powers that be.

I never understood the kidnapping of Cap and Mandy - it seemed too childish for him.

It's kinda strange how easy it is to be friends with different folks who can't stand each other... (shrug)

Oh, and I thought Major Khaos was pretty funny when he wasn't picking on people.....

Redhook. He is very passionate about the hobby, and I still dont really understand why he was banned.

Are you saying you just don't remember or that you never saw what got him banned, or that you disagreed with it? I don't know specifically what got him banned--I'm guessing three strikes--but he earned a few of the strikes I saw. He'd get into heated debates, take things personally, completely fly off the handle for a brief period of time, and start flinging some rather venomous personal attacks. I always hated seeing him do that, as his presence was really valuable around here. :sorry:

I really dont know .

In addition to a history of strikes, his banning came as the culmination of a very specific and rather ugly episode/adventure that left a lot of Forumites' mouths agape. I don't know if the thread still exists and don't feel like searching.

Wasnt it something involving an action 1? I thought it was in the GA forum, but dont remember what the deal was?

It was about a alleged green river book.

Okay I'm confused, I interpreted this thread to be, post your favorite banned forumite, as it "I'm glad you are gone." But it appears the correct usage of this thread is for posting people you liked but were banned.

If the thread is for the later, I'm deleting my cap-freak comment; he was a turd, not someone good.

I meant it to mean: "post a buncha stuff about the forumite you really liked & why your really liked them but who is now banned."

ahhh.. ok I take back the Hammer... :sorry:

I'll go with Redhook. Just sorry he got so messed up

Brad's posting style changed the last year he was on the boards. He seemed very unhappy with the direction that the whole pressing/disclosure discussion was going in, and some of his posts became very personal.

I see the same thing happening currently with someone else on the boards, and hope that things go better for him than it did with Brad.

You missed the humor. Sho 'Nuff said that to Bedrock last year.

Oh, and I thought Major Khaos was pretty funny when he wasn't picking on people.....

What was unfortunate was that the scam included a very brief usage of eBay and a clearly Photoshopped Green River book. It also involved money which elevated it from a prank. Finally, it degenerated into Dad&Son coming online, insulting everyone, and then showing his trimmed but slabbed blue-label comics that he trimmed with an office paper cutter.

I like Brad (RedHook) and think he's done his time (and would give him another final chance)... but that wasn't a great episode.

I think that some people don't realize how much they would miss this board if they couldn't participate on it until it's too late. (Hence the shills.)

I also miss Deathlok and Bugaboo for some reason. (shrug)

Yes. The rapier wit of ShoNuff! His exchanges with Shad were the best, though. Plus wasn't he the one that wrote the diatribe about the "CGC Game?" I have to bust out the search function.

Bugaboo Wall of Text response to "The CGC Game:"

"I've got a better idea for this game. First, everyone who wants to participate must gather up every book they have in their collection and load it into their car (or truck, depending on how many books you have). Then, you must drive your collection at least 3 states away from where they are currently being stored. Once you arrive, you then build a stone temple in the shape of a pyramid. This temple must have a base that is exactly 9 square feet, and it must be precisely 9 feet tall at the point. You must then park your vehicle precisely 3 miles away from this temple and then make your way back to it while crawling on your hands and knees. Then, climb to the top of the temple, punch yourself in the nuts, and scream as loudly as you can, "I'm a person_having_a_hard_time_understanding_my_point for playing this game". Once you have accomplished this feat, walk back to your vehicle, drive back home, and put your comic collection back where it belongs. The first one to do this and come in here and post pictures of it, is declared a pathetic loser. The others must then drive back to their stone temple pyramid, destroy it, and take pictures to post for proof of its destruction. In the event of a tie where two or more people accomplish this feat and post their proof at the same time, then they must all drive 4 states away for round two and do the same thing. If, again, there is a tie, then those remaining will have to drive 5 states away for the third round, and so on. Good luck to all."
