So what I want to know is...honestly....how many of you HONESTLY think these double entendres were meant as such when they were printed...?

I think the only one that is reliably a double entendre is Alf. Maybe Archie's beat off...maybe.

 

Society just wasn't as depraved in the 50's-70's as it is today.

 

 

Here's one that was definitely not an accident. Subtle enough to get by, and definitely consistent w/ the language of the time. We all knew Archie put up w/ Veronica's cr@p for a reason.

 

 

For the record, I'm w/ RMA. I think the only ones about that were intentional were the Rifleman and the pearl necklace covers. Maybe the beat off cover. The Batman comment is so assinine, though, that you had to wonder what they were thinking.
