DD #1 CGC 8.5: A scam ?

DAREDEVIL #1 CGC 8.5 (HIGH-END GRADE)

 

Look at the tiny picture. Grade on the label looks like a FN/VF. A zero feedback seller too. What do you think ?

It's definitely a slash grade...does look like f/vf to me as well...I'd steer clear...

i tried to blow it up also, but had the same fate - a murky picture. so i pulled out a fn/vf 7.0 and a vf+ 8.5 CGC old label to see what i could glean from them. the image that's posted almost certainly is not an 8.5 (just too many characters in the image). the first letter sure looks like an "F" and it seems to have the 5 characters that would make sense. the first number just doesn't look like a 7, however, so it's back to the drawing board. perhaps the seller is just including a different copy than the one he's selling.

 

in any event no one should buy without a clarifying larger scan and then should still be wary.......

The best image enlargement I could get looked like a "FN/VF 8.0". It could be a 7.0, but it also might be a really dumb scammer with a fake/Photoshopped label.

Same book, Same auction page, different serial number. Same seller, no doubt. How many times is he going to sell this?

Oh, and (big surpise), the CGC number on the earlier auction was a phoney too.

i notified e-bay and pointed out all of the similarities between the auctions and the fact that both CGC numbers were bogus.
