DD #1 CGC 8.5: A scam ?

40 posts in this topic

i tried to blow it up also, but had the same fate - a murky picture. so i pulled out a fn/vf 7.0 and a vf+ 8.5 CGC old label to see what i could glean from them. the image that's posted almost certainly is not an 8.5 (just too many characters in the image). the first letter sure looks like an "F" and it seems to have the 5 characters that would make sense. the first number just doesn't look like a 7, however, so it's back to the drawing board. perhaps the seller is just including a different copy than the one he's selling.

in any event no one should buy without a clarifying larger scan and then should still be wary.......

Serial #0084235129

Can someone look up the serial number?

Such a poor scan.

Makes you wonder...

Looked up that number,...

No comic was found matching that search.

Sent the seller the following email....

"The registration number you listed for this book is not found at CGC......perhaps you made a mistake listing the number? or.......?

This auction is being watched with much interest by the members of the CGC board. Come on over!"

That ticking sound you hear is the countdown to the auction being pulled............

You know, snagging these fools is getting to be like shooting fish in a goddam barrel.....

Same book, Same auction page, different serial number. Same seller, no doubt. How many times is he going to sell this?

What's the quickest way to report this to Ebay?

Put this together from screenshots from the special edition DVD.

top: light cycle race

middle: Tron in his cycle

bottom: the stunning Cindy Morgan who will be appearing at the Big Apple Con.

This was a groundbreaking special effects film when it debuted in 1982. It still looks good.
