The best modern "investment" IMO

Okay:

1970's - Hulk #181

1980's - ASM #300

1990's - SM #1 (Platinum)

2000's - UNKNOWN

Anything 2000 and above is far too new and volatile to make any predictions.

After all, these Ultimate books will likely be superceded by the next Marvel Universe (like Marvel 2099, New Universe, M2, Heroes Reborn, etc.) in a few years, and languish in the bins.

I know what it is (unfortunately) and I think 99% of the forum knows what my feelings are towards the Valiant end of the spectrum.

I can honestly trace my departure from the new comics market to the appearance of Bloodshot #1 on the stands. I sold all my Valiants soon after and never returned to new comics. thumbsup2.gif

I just bought a MINT venom 1 black online and the guy shipped it to me without a board. A corner got bent in the shipping. What kind of [!@#%^&^] ships a comic that expensive w/o a board? I am anxious to see how badly I get screwed by CGC because of the guy's ineptness.

CGC screw you?

Sounds like you got screwed before CGC got involved.

Why get it slabbed?

Don't you all think it's odd that other than a couple suggestions (i.e. Next Men #21) most all comics mentioned are variants? What? Do you all think that people 20 years down the line are going to go tothemarketdownthestreetforsomeCRAZY over a variant versus a comics story or character? 893naughty-thumb.gif

Of course not, the trouble is dealers/sellers and to a lesser extent collectors are desperately trying to inject some rarity/collectability into the modern market. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
