If you can pick 10 silver age keys from 1955 to 1967 to invest in, what would they be and why? Please give this some good thought as I am going to ask the mods for this to be a sticky. :wishluck: this is for investment purposes only.not a great read. :)

my fav 10 SA keys (which should presumably appreciate the most over time)

AF15

ASM1

Hulk1

SC 4

SC22

FF1

JIM83

TOS39

BB28

second copy of AF 15

I agree with this list as well. You might want to add X-Men #1 instead of one of the other lesser Marvel keys, but this group should hold up well over the long run.

AF15

FF1

SC4

BB28 - inspired FF1

Hulk1

JIM83

Av 4 - Revival of huge GA hero

ASM1 or FF12 - Crossovers start - giving birth to MU

Sorry for the Marvel bias but it's not my fault. Blame the parents!

AF 15 any grade

SC 22 is kind of a crapshoot but if you can find one above VF then all bets are off

BB 28 in VF or better

Avengers 1 in VF/NM or better

Hulk 1 in Fine or better

X-Men 1 in NM- or better

ASM 1 in VF or better

FF 1 in VF or better

ToS 39 VF or better

MGA 80 in nm- or better :sumo:

I'd put Showcase 4 in there, but i honestly think this book is close to its ceiling.

If I were looking to put a substantial amount of money into 10 high grade books, these are the ones I would choose:

AF 15

2nd AF 15

ASM 1

ASM 3

ASM 14

X-Men 1

2nd X-Men 1

FF 1

2nd FF 1

FF 5

FF 1 because it's the start of Marvel. FF 5 because I think its significance is often overlooked and it's a tough book, which means that it may have some room to grow. X-Men 1 because it's the second or maybe third most popular comic franchise of all time, and will always be in demand.

As for all the Spidey books, it isn't just fanboy drool on my part. Like it or not, Spidey is the one character that's most likely to continue to thrive in popularity, long after new comics stop being produced. As a result, I think that Spidey mega-keys are a safe bet, especially in high grade.
