143ksk
I think for all of us, the comics we read as youngsters will always hold a special place in our hearts. For me that's Barks Ducks and Archie. Oh, and by the way: MORE ALIENS: Edited January 24, 2004 by 143ksk
143ksk
Can anyone provide any information as to why Archie comics decided to have alien and horror themed covers in the early '60s. I assume there must have been some popular culture influences, but I don't know what. Anybody?
143ksk
Here's one of the tougher Archie numbers to get. I think #2 and #3 top my list of books I hardly ever see. Edited January 24, 2004 by 143ksk
143ksk
OK, this isn't really an Archie cover (although there is an Archie story inside). But...it is a totally classic WWII Pep. So, here it is: Edited January 25, 2004 by 143ksk

143ksk
Nice book! I think Heritage had the original of that cover in one of their auctions about a year and a half ago. It had an Archie header rather than the Laugh, but it's the same art.
Aman619
Betty?? Was Betty even ON that cover?? mannnnn, could they get away with that leotard drawing back then? No wonder I read my Archies like a good boy every month...
comicwiz
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love Betty!! Totally agree with you Matt! Personally, I think Archie was either a unitard or altogether blind to not figure out Betty was the hotter of the two. Between the antics stirred with Veronica, her scassacazo dad (word borrowed from COI ), and Reggie's relentless plotting to foil their relations (come to think of it, that Reggie was "Big-Pimpin" early day Vandal Savage, going after Veronica, and Midge -- the latter of course, having a boyfriend who had, ironically, the name Moose, and who had a serious penchant for using Reggie as a tomato-can), Archie must have had serious drought problems! All this, while Betty always seemed so willing to please -- God bless the writers for spinning the situational plots with such realism!!

Is this a Schwartz?
