Are you squashing these books in your scanner?

They don't seem to be effected by the scanning...of course they are

remainder comics that are not in the best shape to begin with...I'm

taking a little more care with the better ones.

I've lurked in the Gold forum for sometime and love this splash page thread. I figure it is time I posted some pics. Most of these scans came from a blog I wrote when I was an owner of TalesOfWonder.com. The blog ended, but I'm still publishing some golden age material through CantonStreetPress.com.

Great Doll Man #19 splash by Bill Ward

I Love this B&W splash by LB Cole from the interior front cover of Contact Comics #4. It is heartfelt without any trace of cynicism.

Opening splash from the same book. Better than the Kurtzman Black Venus, in my opinion.

A few more splashes. This one if from Eerie #4. "The bottomless slime of degredation..." love that text.

Kubert splash from Weird Horrors #9

Splash from True Life Secrets #12, the "I was an escort girl" story. Great floating head splash. There is not a mention of gambling in the entire story, but if you are an escort girl you are probably wrapped up in other "seedy" activities like gambling...

Two more from romance books. This story by Krigstein is a romance story, but reads as a really good adventure story. This is a romance story for guys from Romantic Confessions V2 #3.
