Do babies read comics?

21 posts in this topic

This is the question our scientists set out to answer.

(I'm home alone looking after the wee spud today, and this seemed like a worthwhile investigation...)

First I provided some books. A little silver, bronze and copper to give her a varied selection. We established very early on that she loves the GA (see sig), so this test will focus on the later eras.

She skipped straight to the end of Aliens #1 and moved onto the bronze.

WWBN and Tomb of Dracula proved very popular, and she liked Nick Fury so much she tore the front and back covers off. Finally she cast her eye over the SA.

In conclusion, no, babies do not read comics, but they like the pretty colours.

I have a stack of lower grade and otherwise 'unimportant' books specifically for the kids to do whatever they want with. Sometimes we cut them up and make collages

I was only kidding. It's an adorable picture. I am trying to get my nieces into comics right now too. My one niece loves the Owly book I got her.

My Dad collected comics from AF#15. By 1976 i was four and NOT ALLOWED to touch them!

By 1986 he passed the collection to me (minus AF15). I harldy dared touch them.

Even now i am overly-cautious with them...

CLEARLY NOT A BABY, we are looking at a toddler here. A completely different story. You sir are abusing the term baby with individuals who do not know the difference between a newborn, infant, baby, toddler and child. Let's get this clear, because I have no idea what age you're talking about. JK

My 3 year old loved to have mickey mouse and scooby comics read to her, and to page through them, and as a 4 yr old now still loves to look them over.

I just love that picture he is soooo adorable. I'd give him comics to shred. How could I refuse such a cutie..

You know he'd love ya.

I swear this one was an accident, he learned to pull the lids off. I'm sure this pic will horrify someone out there, on several levels  I left the red eye in there for effect.

Is that one of those cranial remolding helmets or is some type of protective gear?

Cranial remolding (but it does both). He's done with it now (thumbs u I wanted to get it airbrushed like a Bruins goalie mask, but you know, the wife...

:applause:

Nice pic. He reminds me of someone...
