Kane's comics are up for AUCTION on ebay.

 

 

Here is an interesting quote from the listing:

 

But Bob Kane's story beats all of those for sheer melodrama. Unlike some of his contemporaries, Kane had made an effort to hang onto his Batman comics and original artwork. But he didn't make enough effort to hang onto his marriage, and ended up losing both. Kane's first wife, tired of Kane's philandering, took revenge by destroying as much of Kane's comics and art as she could get her hands on. And she got to nearly all of it.

 

But she didn't get to this volume. It was given to Kane by D.C. comics and Kane used it as reference in his studio, where Kane worked with writer (and co-creator) Bill Finger, as well as early Batman artists Jerry Robinson and Sheldon Moldoff, among others.

That BIT*H should have been EXACUTED for destroying PRICELESS artwork. :mad:

 

On the other hand, I believe this one was rescued from a Dumpster by a cleaning lady. Very cool stuff, but it didn't get much love either.

All that great artwork and file copies lost....a true shame.

 

If only such things had longer statutes of limitations... he could have sued her later for what those would have been worth to collectors.
