Has anyone on here dealt with "Sausage Head" Comics in Burlingame ?

I don't think some people seem to understand.

I know where Burlingame, CA is -- and it is NOT

near Berkeley.

The poster first asked about a comic store called 'Sausage Head' in Burlingame, which

to my knowledge doesn't exist.

Then he said it was not Bunky Brothers (who by the way, are in Burlingame, not in a physical store, but by business location), but was near Berkely (yes, he spelled it wrong).

That's like saying, do you know about this comic shop in San Diego, CA?

It's right near Bakersfield. Hopefully, you can understand why that sounds absurd.

Um. meh

Burlingame IS in the same area as Berkeley....in fact, they're only about 20 miles apart, as the crow flies.

To someone who is not from the Bay Area, that's close enough. They're both in the SF Bay Area.

Bakersfield, on the other hand, is 230 miles away from San Diego.

Not quite an apt comparison.

It's much more like Oceanside, or El Cajon, or Chula Vista, all of which are in the "Greater San Diego Area."

Or, Soho to New Rochelle, both of which are in the "Greater NYC Area"....

Saying a store is in Burlingame, then stating it is simultaneously near Berkeley is pretty much asinine to someone coming from the bay area. I know you are pretty sharp RMD, so I'll just leave chalk it up to a misunderstanding on your part.

lol

RMD...? hm

Sorry, BR, but there is no misunderstanding about this at all....to people who live in, or are from, the Bay Area, they may not be "near"....to people OUTSIDE the area, and who are not familiar with the area, they are, in fact, QUITE near.

That's it. Couldn't be any simpler. Frankie clearly isn't from the area, so he wasn't out of line in his statement...yet you jumped all over him as if he was trying to be a jerk.

For the record, I was born and raised in Dublin, and lived in the Bay Area for the first 25 years of my life. My family settled the area in the 1870's. It will always be home to me. :cloud9: (But I shouldn't have to whip out my credentials, either.)

If you lived in the Burlingame, I think you might understand.

Possibly. hm

However, if you come from Nigeria or something, I suppose you could say they are near each other

(relatively speaking).

There you go. Just follow that logic and extend it to, say, people from New York, or Illinois, or Oregon, or Canada....then you'll have it. :applause:

P.S. "...they are 20 miles as the crow flies". That would be great if you were a crow and could fly in a straight line across the bay. Even then, they are not 'near' each other at all.

Dunno what's wrong with your head, BR, or why you are so cranked up about this. By streets and freeways, it's 27 miles. "As the crow flies" is pretty standard when describing distances to people who don't live in an area. You want to be a Richard about it, fine, but recognize that you're being a Richard about it. Does this entire conversation matter one bit? Not in the slightest. Which is why you didn't have to come down on Frankie in the first place.

But hey, since you want to argue about pointless inanities and semantics, I'm game. (thumbs u

I live in Walnut Creek, CA and I'm headed to Berkeley right now. It'll take me about 20 minutes or so by car.

Burlingame is close enough if you're not from the Bay Area... but it's a drive over the Bay Bridge and through the city. Almost like going to the airport... (SFO) There's that pesky San Francisco Bay in between which slows things down. (shrug)

Going the other way means driving down 880 which is NOT ADVISED. Horrible stretch of road...

One of the greatest and simplest joys of my life is driving through the Caldecott Tunnel, westbound, just around sunset. When you come out in the Oakland hills, and see the sun lowering past the Golden Gate, with the City and the entire Bay spread out before you....it's absolutely breathtaking.

I envy you.
