It's definitely worth the effort to track down readers of that series.

 

Get ready to spend some cash. I've been looking for a reader of #15 for years. Even the TPBs go for insane money. Great frickin' read, though.

Not necessarily a one-on-one battle, but how about Molecule Man dropping a mountain on the hero team in Secret Wars? I loved that when I was a kid :headbang:

 

I also liked the battle in Villains United iss 6 with Secret Six taking on Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, Dr. Psycho, and a host of other baddies.

Wolverine takes on the Hellfire Club.

THE Classic Thing fight, but often overlooked: Thing VS Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four 43. Talk about brutal...

 

Honorable mention goes to Thing Vs Hulk, FF 25, and FF Vs Doctor Doom with Surfer powers, issues 57-60.

 

All of these done by Lee and Kirby at the height of their powers.

 

(Can you tell that I'm a Fantastic Four fan?)

Thread over? No way - there are all different kinds of battles.

 

My fave is Wolverine v/s The Silver Samurai in Uncanny X-Men #173 - hands down.

Pretty much anybody vs. the Hulk is at the top of my list (mostly the Thing in #12, 25/26, 166 etc) but also Surfer #4.

Miracleman 15 is epic, horrific, terrifying, and brutal. ( (thumbs u Designer Toast ) It's arguably the greatest battle in the history of comics. Super powered beings in a death match, and one of them is completely insane. That book is awesome.

 

Yeah, putting together a run is salty. Hopefully Marvel will untangle the ownership problems and reprint the series. (Short_Box). I wouldn't hold your breathe though, there are a lot of fingers in that pie.

Not a Marvel Zombie, so I can't recall the issue #s, but I enjoyed a fight between Daredevil & Spidey when he was about to lose it? Spidey catches DD's baton, then states "Wait, why is my spider sense still tingling? BAM!! Anyone?

 

Also, how about when Spidey went up against Firelord...and eventually beat him?

 

One of my personal favorites (not just the fight, but the whole story) is Superman Annual #8- Supes & WW versus Mongul. Hey, how can you go wrong with Alan Moore!!
