I'm up for the Launch Party, I may even buy a book or two

We'll need you there to treat us for alcohol poisoning.

hm I'm sure the treatment is to give me all the remaining alcohol

There won't be any remaining. :sorry:

I was there at the last get-together, if everyone has the tolerance of Andy and George, there'll be most of it remaining. :P

To be fair George has a fair capacity for booze.

Anyway, looking forward to the launch party. I assume that we just turn up at Nick's place without telling him?

Thanks to you all for the best wishes...seriously, guys, it's nice to see such support from my peers. :foryou:

Additional thanks go to the folks who have been aware of the steps I've been taking and have shown interest, support and understanding through PMs and e-mails this last year. Beyond the processing, there's been a load of other matters to consider and make decisions on...until you've done it yourself, you really don't grasp just how much there is to do...and the flow of messages have really helped.

To those who mentioned the skylight, this was a huge factor in the decision to take this space. The racking units will entirely cover the window wall (one benefit being that if anyone wishes to break in that way, they'll have to push over three tonne of stuff from the outside to gain any access :insane: ) and without the skylight, natural light would have been limited or non-existant. This will at least stop it feeling like the Bat-Cave.

As for the web-site, no, I'm not taking a lead from Doug Sulipa. :/ It's still in development, but it should have the full monty...shopping cart, automated wants matches, online messaging, etc., etc.

Just one point for clarification, this won't be a walk-in and the vast majority of sales will be on-line.

As for what we're going to be selling, there are two main specialisation...back issues (raw and slabbed) from the Silver Age to date and a new release subscription service.

Great news about the new business and sincerest best wishes that it's a great success.

The recession hit the comic purveyors up here in the East Midlands pretty hard last year, to the point the Derby closed it's last store (Although I'm often loathed to call the joke that is Forbidden Planet a comic store). So I'm always on the lookout for trustworthy online stores who know their apples.

I (As probably every non-dealer board member has) have often dreamt of opening my own online store.

Good to see you have succeeded.

Once again best wishes.

My best wishes too!!!.

As I wrote before, I live in Spain, so shipping costs from USA are sometimes pretty high, and after reading this:

I only can say: count me in!!!. (thumbs u

Pity you're not on the Costa del Sol...I'd hand deliver them when I come over to visit friends in May! :insane:

I've been a customer of Nick for several years and I can honestly say that he is the best person to buy from. Grading is tight, pricing is fair and honesty is 110%. (thumbs u
