Then...You go for it. sumo.gif

I was going to wait til I finished my X run before I started a run of these, but I just couldn't pass it up.

Talk about a leap of faith. BIN on a NM/M book without a scan from a guy that sales cards on ebay. Good luck, I'd email him & make sure he knows how to package a comic securely because his feedback mentions poor packaging on cards.

I did that right after I hit the BIN.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

I'ts been relisted. Do you think he has two?

This FIRST issue of Marvel's series WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #1 (1972). This book is NM+ condition. Sealed, and stored away untouched for about 20 years. It is the better of the 2 I have and has to be seen to be believed.

He had two.

And someone already nailed the second BIN.

I guess I'm not the only one with an itchy trigger finger. insane.gif

I'm just bummed that I missed that Cerebus #1 with a $250 BIN last week.

I had about 30 minutes to think about it before someone pulled the trigger.

If I'd known more about the book, I would have done it.

I missed out on a heck of a deal with that one, I think.

If it had been TMNT #1, it would have been popped without a second thought.

Update.

Looks like I rolled Snake Eyes. makepoint.gif

After almost a month and a lot of emails, I finally got the book in the mail today.

Seller listed it as NM+, but it looks more like 6.5 to me.

What do you guys think?

Large scans are linked.

He has more books listed, so Buyer Beware.

Wonder bread the back cover and I'll give it a 7.0.

It would take a few loaves. It's pretty dirty.

Around the edges of the inside covers it's starting to turn what I would call "Brown".

Doesn't really show on the outsides, but it's there.

Are you going to leave negative feedback or send the book back to him ?

I sent him an email asking for a refund.

The feedback will depend on what he says.

Right now, it's a neutral at best. crazy.gif

The deal could have been worse, but it certainly wasn't a NM 893frustrated.gif

Assuming nothing other than the creases on the bottom right front and you still haev an iffy 7.0. Hope you get the money back.

If you look at the left side and upper right side of the book you can see the wear that is removing the red color.

Quite a bit of general wear. Not just creases.

I've definitely had my share of bad deals. I've pretty much made enough mistakes now that my only problem is that I sometimes overpay on books--but never skimp on quality. I'd rather pay more and get a nice book than skimp out on a few bucks and get a midgrade. Except for select graders, I rarely buy raw anymore.

Good luck there next time--nice book selection though. thumbsup2.gif

I just looked at the guy's auctions--EVERY book is NM/M or NM+, huh? Any relation to cgc*comics?

Reminds me of this "midgrade" book whose cover was GLUED together--what a piece of work this guy was. Oh-and he sold cards too.

His feedback is only 96%--pretty bad considering he's relatively new to eBay.
