These are typically fragile since the quality of paper used is a far cry from that of the Fortune magazines. That's the difference between 5¢ and $1 in cover price They had some great covers in that title

ThothAmon
Bag change day. The Slam has some unbelievably un-woke stories and art. I won’t show the most out there. Why this grouping is together in a box? Who knows. Morganmi, Jayman and batmiesta

I've heard that about a lot of the vintage paperback covers from the 40's & 50's - an art director or top artist would "fix" the efforts of whoever was assigned if it wasn't quite what they wanted. For any that doubt, I give you a close up of Egyptian Queen which Frazetta painted only a few months before. Fun fact- Frazetta painted Egyptian Queen right around the same time as he painted the cover for Vampirella 1 (September 1969 publication date on both issues). The guy was in the zone! This one is a bit different. Ken Kelley is Frank Frazetta's nephew (through his wife) and was studying under Frank. This was going to be Ken's first cover and he showed it to Frank first. Frank didn't like the face and repainted it. Surfing Alien

Popular Post chevalmeow
Got a few this week. Vampirella #4 from Finland. I little beat but otherwise in VG condition. I guess I am going down that road for foreign copies now. The Eerie and Deja-Vu are extras for my hoard. For Monsters Only is new for me so I may be looking for these now too. piper, bounty_coder, JRBaxter and 9 others
