I am planning on going Friday. I am hoping to find some decent dealers there, but after Wizard Anaheim, my hopes aren't too high. Other than Terry's con and SDCC, I have been disappointed in all the other ones I have gone to in So. Cal.

You would think that a 3 day con at the Pasadena Convention Center could get at least as many quality dealers at Terry's one day show at a community center in Yorba Linda. doh!

Phoenix, Pasadena, Phoenix, Pasadena...

Pasadena is 9 miles from my front door. Phx is 400.

Phoenix is still under heavy consideration because of the quality of the dealers..and that's just sad.

See you in Phoenix :baiting:

I still might hit this show on Sunday if time permits.

Yeah, I decided not to go to Phoenix. Too much $$$ for not so sure expectations.

I guess it's Pasadena, but the price is ludicrous. $50 for a 3 day advance pass? Phx was $30 advance, and that included tonight as a preview.

Ah well.

There's not a special price for people who just want to buy comics, is there..? ;)

Off to a crappy start. 20 minutes after the con is supposed to start and the doors are licked and no one is making any effort to explain the holdup. Just a bunch of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons willing to overpay hanging out on the street. Maybe only 100 of us lined up right now.

STAY AWAY!

Only three or four comic vendors and most of them look like they are bringing their cannon fodder to blow out at 50 cent to a buck. Even Geoffrey left most of his stuff behind. There were more than 30 empty table (not tables with d-list celebs not there yet, just tables with no signs, people or products.

Show was supposed to start at 2, but they started letting people in 30 minutes late then took about 30 minutes just to get the first 100 people inside and they had nearly all prepurchased tickets. Of course, I don't know what panels or signings, if any, will be taking place because there is no schedule, program, or listings for the poorly planned debacle.

The Web site had stated Stan Lee would be signing from 3 to 7 today, but he still wasn't visible at his booth and it sounded like he may not be there until Saturday.

Easily the worst show I have been to at any price. Makes Wizard World Anaheim look like SDCC Jr.

p.s. This is posted from my hotel an hour after getting inside and that includes stopping to talk with Bernie Wrightson and a couple of small press writers I keep running into.
