Copper Age Keys NOT in 9.8

99 posts in this topic

So, since we have at least one copy of almost every Marvel and DC Bronze Age in 9.8 (and quite a few independents, such as they were), I thought I'd start a thread for the top Copper keys without a 9.8 on the census.

I suppose we can start with the keys, and then work our way down to any semi-keys or even issues of note.

This list should be a lot easier than Bronze, I should think.

Issues of note:

GI Joe: A Real American Hero #106 (Marvel 1990) (Death of George Strawhacker & first apperance of Magda) 9.6 highest.

GI Joe: A Real American Hero Yearbook #4 (Marvel 1988) (Last Yearbook) 9.6 highest.

GI Joe: A Real American Hero #125 (Marvel 1992) (Only other Marvel GI Joe: ARAH not found in CGC 9.8!!!) 9.6 highest

I know it's a stretch but all I know is 'Joe..... :(

(I'd give someone top dollar if you could get me any of these graded at 9.8!!!) :)

Are there really no Dark Horse Comics # 7 in 9.8? My memory is Star Wars fans knew about it and hoarded it (first post-Dark Empire Star Wars story). I personally bought 5 copies on the day of release.

I didn't think the print run had any noticable production flaws.

Is there still only 1 TMNT 1st Print in CGC 9.8?

Think I have said this before. I would be careful of this book. Mike Goldman (Motor City Comics) bought up all the copies he saw for sale for years. I saw someone mention he had 2-3 copies for sale at the last show. Doing as many shows as he used to I bet he has/had a large quantity of them.

The highest graded copy that he currently takes with him on tour is a CGC 9.0.

Strangers In Paradise #1 (Antarctic Press) would have qualified for this list (assuming 1993 is still Copper),

but it looks like one was graded recently.

So, I guess this post isn't needed (but I'm leaving it here anyway).
