It was originally arbitrarily set by CGC as "Post-1975" (probably to allow for the quintillion submissions of Hulk #181's and GSXM #1's to be charged full price.)

 

Early last year it was pushed to, what? 1980? It's on the website.

 

* Modern service is limited to books published from 1980 to the present.

Plus return shipping, which can add up. You should save up and send in more than one comic book to save on return shipping costs. Return shipping one comic book registered mail is $14.00, insurance $11.50, total $25.50 for one comic book.

I find by sending 8-12 books and use Fed Ex second day is the best way to save on shipping..besides driving to CGC to pick up.

Usually 2-3. Last year, it was WWPhilly, WWChicago, and the Big Apple show.
