so what i should do is go to my fave shop and ask the dude if i can come in early on wednesdays to get first crack at the new comics before the nicest ones disappear? and he wont look at me like i'm an insufficiently_thoughtful_person?!?

 

As I've said before, my shop sucks when it comes to super HG off the rack. Still, whenever I pick up my books, I always go to the rack and try and find better copies than what they employees have pulled and swap them out. Do this enough, and they'll get the idea. Now, they usually will pull the better copies for me.

My favourite is when you do finally find a couple of perfect, potential 9.9's, and carefully carry them over to the counter making sure to protect the spine as you go, and you lay the book nice and flat for the LCS guy to scan.....and the guy behind the counter grabs the book, searches for the barcode, scans it, and stuffs it in the bag. All the while, you are watching the grade go 9.9, 9.8, 9.6, 9.4, 9.2..... 893frustrated.gifinsane.gif
