Hi - I'm new to the board. I am a collector of magazine-sized horror comics and am aghast at the prices CGC magazines are making. Also the grading seems inconsistent at the moment - I have some 9.0s and 9.2s that make some 9.6s pale in comparison. I was bidding against another buyer recently and lost when a CGC 9.8 Legion of Monsters #1 (one-shot) went for over $300.00. However, a few weeks later I noticed another 9.8 copy come up (with white pages) and won it - with no competition - afor half the price. I'm sure there aren't many really high grade mags out there, but it is still worth waiting for reasonable prices. Magazines are not nearly as popular as their older comic cousins, but I think they will generate more interest in the near future. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the boards.

 

In response to your question I think that since CGC mags are new to the market there is a overvaluation for them. Once the mags become more common place the prices will level out.
