Ahh ... self published. As hard as Josh Howard's Dead @17 Halcion?

 

I don't know that I am qualified to opine. But I believe the L&R was only available via mail order or at SDCC. Plus it came out when I was 12. It was 5 years later before I even heard the rumors of its existence. I grew up in the Midwest and as i said only heard rumors about the self-published #1. In fact there were a lot of people in the Midwest who swore up and down that the 1st print Fantagraphics #1 was the 1st book Los Bros Hernandez ever were affiliated with.

Nearly every week for the last couple of months there's been an OA Jaime page in the weekly Heritage auctions. There's a page from issue 1 in the August Sig Auction. I thought all my drool had been used up.

 

Then I see this.
