What comic book series disturbed you?

67 posts in this topic

Since the WC has "What movie disturbed you" thread,I thought I start a "What comic book series disturbed you" thread.

My pick is WE3 b/c I'm not a fan of dogs, cats, and other pets being used as weapons.

While I like the story,I couldn't read it again b/c it was pretty "nasty"

Its the only book I've refuse to read again.

Not a series, but this specific true story from Underworld #3 and included a hatchet to a toddler's head. (So disturbing, I apparently decided I needed a copy but have left it in the slab.)

The Walking Dead has disturbed me at many points...but I keep coming back. Probably the best comic story I've read to date.

And I haven't even read it, but the covers to Crossed freaking disturb me...no thanks!

I feel the same way about The Waking Dead.

I've read Crossed as well, and the covers have been pretty "disturbing" too.

Yup twd can get pretty "whoa" at some points but you almost tend to get use to it haha! Its when they have the main good guy characters do "whoa" things that get ya!

I'm going to throw beasts of burden into the lot too Some of that stuff gets pretty grizzly specially in the latest mini run!

I think I've heard the most reaction to the one with the guy being thrown out of the airplane. It's not particularly graphic, but that seems to push buttons with a lot of people.

Nothing so far. When I first saw the cover art to Twisted Tales I immediately bought the entire run. Although it's a fun series, the cover art and my own imagination stemming from it was much more shocking than the actual stories. I'm not much of a fan of shock horror movies, I prefer the psychological kind, but I am interested in reading at least one shock horror comic. Maybe I'll pick up some of those Gore Shriek books hm

When I read Anton LaVey's letter in a Tomb of Dracula, I dumped all my copies of that title, and discontinued reading the series.

Later, I actually read the Satanic Bible. Didn't seem all that bad. I've still got my copy, and should probably read it again.
