TWD TV SHOW--Offical Discussion Thread

The spoiler tags are annoying. Anyone opening this thread should be aware that people are talking about the show and that obviously includes the most recent airing. Some people are waiting for the bluray. Where to draw the line?

I have to agree with this. Practically every forum on the Internet, when dealing with spoilers, has a "fair game" policy after the first airing of the television show.

Why not just wait to see an episode before reading this thread?

Having to click these spoiler "reveals" in the majority of the thread is getting annoying.

The most recent airing hasn't aired everywhere though has it? British boardies may want to check in and talk about the first episode, should they have to tiptoe through posts to make sure they don't read something they haven't seen just because you don't like spoiler tags?

No Gav, it's YOUR fault for not living in the states and seeing the episode 2 days ago.

On the other hand...since not all boardies live in the us, and some of us don't want to be total by not using the tags for those that have not seen/read the topic, we use spoilers put of courtesy.

How about I post some scripts of unaired episodes and not use spoilers? And give no warning? Would that be better?

Yes Gav, you are at fault for being my non-gay UK life partner.

So lemme see, this group can kill like 50 zombies in a clip in hand to hand combat without getting a scratch (and why is it that they run around in tank tops and try to expose as much skin as possible? shouldn't they be wearing leather and what not?), yet our 2 million strong military, with body armor and what not, couldn't eventually figure out "shoot them in the head" and "burn the bodies of the dead ASAP"?

i understand the "surprise" factor, but let's be serious, 200 well trained troops with the ample ammunition stockpiled by the u.s. government, could probably wipe out all the zombies out there in 10 months.

They did! The surprise ending is Rick & co getting to some massive fences and finding civilization is fine except for the quaranteened section they were shut in.

lol That would be awesome, reminds me of that M. Knight movie The Village.

So "clicking" things on the internet is annoying? How has your head NOT exploded by now? lol

How about scrolling? Does that leave a burning sensation?

Refreshing must unbearable. lol

Most of these comments were made less than 36 hours after the first showing of the new episode. I don't think that's extreme, strange, or otherwise unreasonable.

Rick killed a man in cold blood. There was no reason to leave that guy to be zombie food.

Second, Rick showed just how unstable he is by his treatment of the prisoners. If he wants to be on guard, that is fine. Just don't threaten and be such a hard . The way he talked to them and gave ultimatums was ridiculous. It was almost like he was begging for a fight. And if his goal is to protect his family, his actions were NOT helping.

Imagine if Rick had that kind of reception at the farm. lol.

I think this is what DiceX was talking about when he said "a line was crossed "

Big difference between people meeting at a farm and meeting people who are locked up in a prison. There's a whole different set of assumptions you can make about the people you are dealing with.

I think everyone is forgetting that Rick was a police officer. The last person in the world he's going to cut a break to are these inmates. This is a penitentiary, not a jail. Everyone inside is a felon. The most serious criminals society has to offer. I can't imagine a world, even this one, where anyone thinking straight is going to immediately trust someone who could be a child rapist, mass murderer, or psychopath.

Rick gave Rico Suave a chance, and Rico tried to slash him once and then tossed a slack jaw on his junk.

The guy who ran chose his side before Rick killed "Machete", there's no way Rick could let him hang around.

In a way Rick employed the "law of the prison yard". First day in you find the biggest baddest bull in the yard and you knock him the out. Set the tone from day one, strong and weak, your choice.

He pushed them to see what they would do; fall in line, or push back. Rick is the leader. He won't tolerate a challenge, not after Shane. So he got it out of the way. There's room for one Alpha Male.

Rick's actions are the only ones that make complete sense give the situation.

Rick killing Rico Suave was justified. I never said otherwise. Look at what I wrote. I feel like a lot of people are misinterpreting. Rico definitely needed to go.

Rick threatening Rico Suave was a poor decision. I think that is more likely to provoke than to intimidate. That's why I thought it was unwise. I wouldn't say there was anything morally wrong with it. I just thought it was stupid.

However, what I thought was morally wrong and borderline evil, was locking that dude in the yard to be zombie food. That's where the line was crossed. it is interesting to see that happening though. The protagonist is not like 99.9% of the protagonists on tv and I am enjoying it.

in regards to the one left in the yard, I don't find that to be harsh. He did have a small opportunity to make a run for the fence. Rick was smart to push and see if Tomas was going to make a move. And he was even smarter to kill the individual_without_enough_empathy too. Well, because mess happens? (shrug)

Pretty good episode tonight. I see Carl still doesn't understand the concept of "stay in the house".

:)

Yeah good episode tonight, is it just me or is this season a lot more gory than last season?

Apparently I am the only one who felt tonight's episode was kinda boring. lol

As I said in the other thread I just got done watching Game of Thrones Season #2 so that could have the effect on me that everything else blows after that. hm

Seriously though this to me was a filler episode and while zombie deaths are nice I felt this episode didn't really go anywhere.

I am excited for next week's episode. Still not sold on the actor and look of the Governor, but I hope I am proven wrong.....We shall see.

not the only one. the stupidity factor was back. carl's wanderings doh! trite deathbed scene w/ herschel & maggie w/ grating elevator music on the soundtrack. last week's episode was much better.

It may not have been, bro. Glen Maza, himself, stated that, “Andrew is really Tomas’ right hand man. These guys are really the ones who have been intimidating Axel and Oscar.” He also swung at Rick. He had to go.

I guess the difference between people liking the episode and not liking the episode is how much the empathize and believe the characters. I love Maggie's portrayal and her character, thus it all worked for me.

They've got to show Carl's maturity somehow. I've got no problem with what he did. In the comics he's murdering people left and right and we think it's a stretch he makes a bandaid run?
