Message board nostalgia.

With all the love threads, hate threads and convention threads, it got me to wax nostalgic about earlier days on the boards. I realized I missed somethings and was happy about a few others not being here.

 

Things I miss:

  • Nik
  • The NOD Wars
  • Red Hook putting everyone on ignore after a board meltdown.
  • Bug
  • Having no one on ignore.
  • Tarzan_Geek
  • Steve Borock at CGC.
     
    Honorable mention: Wertham. He isn't really gone.
     

 

Things I don't miss:

  • Dad & Son
  • The Want to Buy Forum being below the Selling Forum.
  • Never having read The Walking Dead.
  • Forum dinners
  • The Mile High II pedigree
  • Goonchild
  • greatgoogamooga
     

 

Anyone else missing something or glad something else is gone?

Nik (of course)

board dinners

going to big cons and meeting lots of you fine folk

Red Hook, but not for putting everyone on ignore, just for his huge contributions to these boards

locked threads

 

I don't miss:

 

D&S, although he's here somewhere

his woman, and she's most likely here as well

CapFreak, we all know he's here

After 13 months away I missed everything about the Boards in general. But here's a few things...

 

* First and foremost Nik. It was a shocker and saddening finding out :sorry:

* Being able to participate in the hobby

* greggy's 666 PMs

* bbhooks........posts.....

* I miss watching simple threads escalate into mud slinging flame wars (oh, wait - that still happens)

* Kenny (Ze-Man) calling me after he's had a few too many beers

There was this one time that lasted several months where I barely remember ANY pressing threads...those were the days. :cloud9:

 

Oh wait, plus there was the period from 2002 until around 2004 when nobody EVER talked about it...actually...THOSE were the days. :cloud9:

 

No wait, that's right, they just amuse me now. THESE are the days. :banana:

NOD flame wars (it really brought the ugly and stooopid out of some peple)

Having people PM me about NOD flame wars

Pressing threads

Selling books as a part time job
