I changed my mind after reading this. I looked at his earlier auctions, and he picked up a bunch of books and "knows nothing about comics..."

 

Still, I think he is hoping for a sucker who wants ToS 39.

I noticed his use of "by" instead of "buy" as well. Another favorite is "in tact" instead of "intact" and "except" instead of "accept."

 

The illiteracy one observes on ebay and most other public forums is eye opening to say the least. I don't know whether I should be amused or frightened that so many are among us. I'm stunned that some of these folks even have the intelligence to go through the steps to get an item listed on ebay.

You can start an auction at a million dollars... it's still only $4.80.

I just sent him this e-mail asking about the price. I figure it's my duty to do so, to make sure some poor slob doesn't bid on it, thinking it's the real deal. Then again, if you're that dumb....

Wouldn't the Masterworks have a date on the inside of the book saying when it was published??? That should clue him in...or maybe not.

There are dates on them. In the indicia, it says when it was originally published, and then the date of the Masterworks printing is listed. He probably thinks that the originally published date is the actual date of the book!

Or...he's just clueless.
