Thanks, Mike!

Roy!!!

I've always wanted a Spectre book, and although #54 is my favorite cover the allure of the Larson name just kept tugging and tugging. I've liked that #57 since Mike first posted it.

The "porno raid" cover! NICE!

Please, that is a legitimate film. Cap and Bucky got confused. Thought it was real.

Was it Welles or Hitchcock behind the camera?

it's not a raid - Schomburg has helpfully added his standard bad guy masks to the villains who are trying to kidnap the lovely actress off the set. The cameraman is being attacked and the sound recordist is fighting back, while a grip in the background has his hands up.I'm not sure what the bad guy is doing with the reel of film - since it clearly isn't camera negative. Perhaps it was on set to be used for rear projection later in the day.

Plus it's a Technicolor camera. Way too expensive for porn in the 1940's. ;)

Here are some pictures of the Tec #37.

One gives a clear idea about the split on the spine just above the staple... really not bad at all.

Unfortunately my flash was washing everything else so the pics aren't great without the flash, but the micro-chamber paper is true white so you should get an idea about the pq and the cover tanning.
