Mylites

Ok, I know this topic has been discussed thoroughly and I did a little search, but the search feature and I aren't good friends.

Anyway, I have only ever used poly bags and backing boards. I was wanting to switch a bunch over to mylites for obvious reasons. I was searching through Hot Flips, based on the advice of other board members, and am completely confused about which mylite I should be using. I didn't realize that there were so many types.

I made the mistake of buying modern sized polybags, because I liked how tight they fit, only to find out later that they like to leave creases on the books on either side. I don't want to make the same mistake with the mylites and buy the wrong size.

My collection consists of nothing older than silver age Marvel and probably never will.

Is it worth it to buy different sizes for different age books?

...and what are half-backs anyway?

Thanks.

You should get standard size. That is my recommendation. Read this thread to get your preferred size. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4387965&fpart=1

If you are looking at hotflips and want standard size get the following:

Boards:

or

Mylites, I sugges Mylite 2's

http://www.hotflips.com/product_info.php?cPath=5_83&products_id=214

Also, half backs are just half as thick as full backs.

Thanks for posting the links for me guys. A HalfBack is a 24pt. stock board (completely acid free) also the same thickness as your standard acid-neutral backing board. A Full-Back is a 42pt. stock board. Almost twice as thick as the HalfBack. Any questions shoot me a PM, but i might not be able to get back to you until Monday,

Jeff
