Okay....look a the #11, that is the spirit!!!!!.....These early teen numbers of Four Favorite are a bit tough to find....Covers by Ferstadt and some guy named LB Cole....

Interior panels of FF 12 look like Picasso or Dali doing comics.

I managed to miss this thread until last week, but better late than never. Thanks to everyone that contributed. BB's above image made me grab my copy, and while the Lightning story is fantastic it was the Unknown Soldier story that grabbed my attention:

From many of my postings, it is no secret that I collect and and relish GA books that are not "The Seven That Shall Not Be Named".

So here is a string of covers coming up from Ace Magazines with some great GA covers which are relatively inexpensive. The talents of Dave Berg, Jim Mooney, Kuntzler etc. will be shown...And wait until we get to the books near the ends of some of the longer runs.....

Thanks for posting - never seen those Our Flag #3-5 before.

The Four Favorite cvrs are interesting - which one(s) are the toughest to find?

All of them! These guys can break your heart. Mr Berk's Ace collection is all the more amazing for being composed of rare issues! And pedigree copies!

As one who has sought these out for years with little or no success, it is wonderful to see these great copies - and many of these issues are virtually unseen. My one and only contribution is also my favourite cover:

...and Mr Berk! If you ever get bored with these I'll be your huckleberry!

Thanks for sharing the LB Cole interior story. Not quite as wild as Jack Cole but he's certainly doing his best to try! :headbang:
