and while i'm grasping at straws, do these marks mean anything? The books they were on were unusually well preserved.

sorry, these are just so much nicer than any other 1930s books i've run across that I though they must be from a pedigree or something...

Answering seriously this time, I don't recognize the markings on that one. I do think you found a Larson, which is not a bad thing at all.

When I was filing this one away, I realized that it was still an upgrade. Mr. Larson may have let his book get wet, but Mr. Crippen cut the title off of his!
